The Grailtones  Marshall Collection

We present our favourite examples from each of the most important eras of Marshall production and recorded them with classic microphones through a vintage Trident console, recorded using high-definition converters so you get all of that raw Marshall tone.

Representing the infamous plexi years , our '69 50 watt has all of that airy, open classic gain. Powered with a variac at 180 volts and played through either of our vintage blackback or greenback speakers.

Next in the series, a 1976 JMP 50 Master Volume MK2. This incarnation of design allowed for overdrive at lower volume levels, by way of the recently introduced master volume. Unusually for a master volume equipped amp, it  has four inputs and two channels. This can be loosely described as Chunky and classic.

Finally we’ve modelled our 80’s custom Def Leppard JCM800 superlead 100watt head with a variety of settings and cabinets. Built for Leppard at the Marshall factory it has a plethora of non-standard features including the 50/100 switch, 4 inputs with a master volume, effects loop and bias points. From icy clean sounds to full-tilt gain the JCM has that 80’s sting in the tail.
